Hajj Tamattu is where pilgrims enter into the state of Ihram, at the respective Meekat, perform Umrah first observing all its Rukns, come out of Ihram, and wait till 8th of Dhul Hijja; and then enter again in to the state of Ihram and move to Mina then perform the Hajj. Thus. there is a break in between the Umrah and Hajj in the Hajj Tamattu type.This is the most common type of Hajj performed today.
